North West Castle Hotel

Grand old place. Accommodated us and our dogs at dinner and breakfast by putting us in a separate room. Beds were comfy and place was clean. Didn't get to use other facilities as we arrived fairly late and left early but pool looked nice. Dinner was fabulous!

Amazing value for money. The pool, sauna & jacuzzi are great. Yes, perhaps could do with a little updating, and maybe a little cold - but, for the people that have moaned in previous comments…..!!! Honestly, the world seems to just be full of Karen’s these days. We had an amazing time, the games room is a great touch and all the staff were friendly. I don’t think you could find any better in the UK when you consider the value for money!

Staff, food, accommodation were super. Nothing was an issue and staff were polite and courteous. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and good views of the loch. Location Was excellent for our needs ( visiting and touring)con fident with the motorbike parking we had. 2 double rooms, -the pricing was excellent. Swimming pool a good size and jacuzzi was very pleasant after a long biking journey

The hotel location was primarily why we picked it as we were travelling on the Belfast ferry the following day and their was access to many EV charge points nearby. The room was spacious and provided everything we needed for an overnight stop, The food was very good with breakfast in particular being the best we had on our holiday. The feel of the hotel was very traditional which we appreciated but others may see as stuffy.

I was.on the first floor near the lift. I had the option of a plug in heater if the central heating was not on to be warm and dry my clothes. I loved their spa, swimming pool and jacuzzi . I had a lovely time in the local pubs. Stranraer is a great town. The hotel is so near the Cairnryan/ Belfast ferry It would be the ideal place to run Scottish and Nthern Ireland coach touring holidays.
